Terms of Service
- The figure gets written down long before the truck ever backs in
- 8 trucks, one payroll, nobody pulled off a load board
- $1M in cargo protection travels with every job across Northern Virginia
These terms cover any quote, booking, or move handled by Snap Movers, a household-goods carrier registered in Virginia and based in Annandale. Registration is on file with Virginia DMV Motor Carrier Services, and Snap Movers also carries interstate US DOT and MC authority for long-distance routes such as our runs to New York, Raleigh, Pittsburgh, Orlando, Boston, and Charlotte.
A quote given over the phone or through our website is an estimate based on what you’ve told us about the job. The number becomes binding once Derrick or a member of our team has walked the property, or reviewed a detailed inventory for long-distance jobs, and confirmed it with you in writing. That confirmed figure is what you’re billed, barring a change in scope you approve on move day.
Hourly jobs run at $150/hr for a two-mover crew or $205/hr for three movers, with a 2-hour minimum. Flat-rate options are available for studio and one-bedroom moves ($500-$760), two-bedroom ($960-$1,600), three-bedroom ($1,820-$2,780), and four-bedroom ($2,950-$4,250), depending on inventory and access. Piano and specialty-item pricing, storage rates, and long-distance pricing are quoted individually based on the specific job.
If you need to reschedule, give us as much notice as you can — our trucks and crews are booked in advance, especially during PCS season and the run-up to the Fairfax County Public Schools late-August start. We’ll do what we can to accommodate short-notice changes, but a confirmed date held with no notice of cancellation may be billed a minimum trip charge to cover the crew and truck held for you.
Every move carries $1M in cargo coverage as a baseline. Beyond that, federal rules give you two standard valuation choices: released value protection at $0.60 per pound per article at no extra charge, or full-value protection priced between roughly 1% and 3% of your total shipment value, which covers repair, replacement, or a cash settlement for anything lost or damaged. Choose your valuation level before move day; released value is assumed by default if no other option is selected in writing.
If something arrives damaged or missing, notify our office as soon as you notice it and file a claim in writing. Claims must be submitted within 9 months of the delivery date. We investigate every claim promptly and resolve it according to the valuation level selected for that move.
Payment is due at the completion of the job unless other terms were agreed to in writing in advance. We accept the payment methods listed at booking; a payment schedule for long-distance moves requiring a deposit will be spelled out in your written confirmation.
Snap Movers’ liability is limited to the valuation coverage selected for your shipment and does not extend to indirect costs such as missed work, temporary lodging, or consequential losses, except where required by law. Virginia law controls any dispute arising from these terms, without regard to where you happened to be moving from or to. Questions about any of this can go to [email protected] before you book, not after.
